Abstract: Linear Programming is a scientific method used for obtaining and determine the most optimal solution for a problem with given constraints. This technique is useful for guidance of a quantitative decision-making in different fields such as business planning, industrial engineering, production firm and to the extent of social and physical sciences. This research examines the application of linear programming to determine the product(s) that maximize(s) the profit of WHAO Beverages Nig. Ltd. The data used for this research is a secondary data obtained from the company. The method used to analyze the data is a revised simplex method of a linear programming. The findings in this research was able to formulate mathematical model for the research problem; determine the product that will yield the maximum profit for the company; and know the quantity of this product that will give this profit. Data obtained from the company undergoes two iterations, whose analysis shows that the squash drinks maximize the profit of the company at the second iteration. The quantity of SQUASH Drinks that gave the maximum profit of 264 units produced and the maximum profit of the company (WHAO Beverages Nig. Ltd.) was #2200.83.

Time Is Money: The Equilibrium Trading Horizon and Optimal Arrival Price

Abstract: Executing even moderately large derivatives orders can be expensive and risky; it’s hard to balance the uncertainty of working an order over time versus paying a liquidity premium for immediate execution. Here, we introduce the Time Is Money model, which calculates the Equilibrium Trading Horizon over which to execute an order within the adversarial forces of variance risk and liquidity premium. We construct a hypothetical at-the-money option within Arithmetic Brownian Motion and invert the Bachelier model to compute an inflection point between implied variance and liquidity cost as governed by a central limit order book, each in real time as they evolve. As a result, we demonstrate a novel, continuous-time Arrival Price framework. Further, we argue that traders should be indifferent to choosing between variance risk and liquidity cost, unless they have a predetermined bias or an exogenous position with a convex payoff. We, therefore, introduce half-life factor asymptotics to the model based on a convexity factor and compare results to existing models. We also describe a specialization of the model for trading a basket of correlated instruments, as exemplified by a futures calendar spread. Finally, we establish groundwork for microstructure optimizations as well as explore short term drift and conditional expected slippage within the Equilibrium Horizon framework.

Abstract: The present study provides a comprehensive discussion for the problem of boundary layer flow and heat transfer analysis of stagnation point flow of couple stress fluid over an exponentially stretching surface. The governing equations of couple stress fluid model are assumed under boundary layer approach. The nonlinear partial differential equations are simplified by using similar similarity transformations. The analytical solutions of abridged equations are computed with the help of homotopy analysis method (HAM). The convergence of the HAM solutions have been deliberated by plotting ћ - curves and also through homotopy pade approximation. The physical features of pertinent parameters have been discussed through graphs.

Abstract: The article examines the problem of developing the methodological foundations of the influence of various parameters on the measurement accuracy, as well as the adoption of a technical solution that allowed describing the function of converting an informative parameter in an electric field and the function of influencing the accuracy of the instrument readings of the main informative and uninformative parameters of the measurement process. The influence of the physical and mechanical properties of raw cotton and the behavior of the material under study in a high-frequency electromagnetic field is considered. The principle of operation of high-frequency measuring systems is described, based on the presence of a relationship between the dielectric constant of the controlled material and its humidity in the electromagnetic field. The state of moisture control of raw cotton and products of their industrial processing of local varieties grown in the Republic of Uzbekistan is analyzed. The issues of the error of the thermogravimetric method of measuring humidity (informative parameter) are discussed as the main direct model method, as well as a number of sources of measurement errors (uninformative parameters), including moisture absorption properties, drying criterion, sample weighing, raw cotton composition, as well as the degree of influence of various interfering factors on the accuracy of determination and measurement of the value of the mass moisture ratio of raw cotton and its primary processing products. The application of humidity control devices at the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex is described, which will allow to stabilize technological processes, improve the quality and quantity of products, as well as improve working conditions in industrial premises. An assessment of the thermogravimetric method for measuring humidity and recommendations for the use of indirect measurement methods based on the implementation of the method and the selection of the optimal number of measured parameters of the object of study, ensuring maximum accuracy of determining the desired value, are given.

Abstract: Heavy alcohol consumption is known to be a major risk factor for disease and death globally. Various studies have related transmission of alcohol drinking habits with social contacts and peer pressure. Researchers have attempted to model this contact process through dynamical systems. Departing from this approach, this paper adopts a game theory model to study the transmission and prevalence of alcohol drinking habits, based on the concept of an evolutionarily stable population state. The proposed game theoretic model takes into account two scenarios. One deals with populations aged 15+ having two types of individuals: nondrinkers (N) and drinkers (D) whereas the other divides the same populations into nondrinkers (N), moderate drinkers (M) and heavy drinkers (H). In the former case, three types of pairwise interactions are possible between these individuals whereas in the latter, six types. The different possibilities inherent in these types are explained and the payoff matrices representing the interactions and the resulting gain expressions are presented. The game theoretic models are then analyzed and evolutionarily stable population states are computed for a few sets of parameter values. The advantage of this model is that it is found to be beneficial to understand the large time proportions of nondrinkers and drinkers in the population in a simpler manner than the dynamic system models. The work may be further expanded by dividing the existing classes of non-drinking and drinking populations on the basis of other critical aspects also.
